Back to the Present

Well.... I think I'm pretty much caught up by now... blogging-wise anyway.
This week we are rehearsing for our production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! I am playing Quince and Egeus. A lovable goof who thinks he is directing the next big play; and a tyrannical father. Characters who have little in common. I have never actually played a girl in any sort of drama production I've been in, not that there's been many. I've decided one of my life goals is to be able to play a woman in a play. That's pretty auspicious of me I know.
Last night while we were re-hearsing there was a power outage that effected the whole town. So we were right in the middle of a scene when suddenly we were plunged into pitch darkness. Everybody collected any flashlights (or torches) that we had and we were desperately searching the church for candles and matches so we could continue our practice by candle-light (or we set up our laptops and rocked out to "Dancing in the Moonlight"... I may have done a little of both). Before we could light any candles the power came back on. I was a little upset because I thought it would be fun to perform by candlelight, and very fitting for the play as well.
My schedule for this week is crazy and I have little time for anything besides memorizing lines but I will post some pictures of our production in the next little while. Posted by Picasa
