The remains of Shakespeare's actual house

This garden included some remains of the house that Shakespeare actually bought and lived in during the last years of his life. He bought the 2nd largest house in Stratford; it was passed down through his family until Elizabeth. She didn't have any children so then it was put up for sale. A very grumpy man bought it who thought he should get tax breaks for some reason. Angry because he didn't get what he wanted and because Shakespeare fans would sneak into his garden to look at the mulberry tree Shakespeare had planted he moved out of Stratford and actually tore the house down. talk about over-reacting. We have him to thank for the ruin of one of the future's most popular tourist attractions. Posted by Picasa
