A Photogenic Bunch

So, I was going through some old pictures on my computer and stumbled upon these priceless moments. To think I will be with these urchins again in less than a week.

Oh Christmas Break, you can not come fast enough!

What kind of music do you listen too?

I've seen a few other people do this and it looked like fun, so...

1. put your music player on shuffle
2. press forward for each question
3. use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn't make sense

How are you feeling today?
A Hard Day's Night -- The Beatles

How do your friends see you?
The Lion Sleeps Tonight -- Paul Simon

Will you get married?
Love is a Crime -- Anastacia

What is your best friend's theme song?
Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard -- Paul Simon

What is the story of your life?
The Song of the Cebu -- Veggie Tales

What was highschool like?
Good Vibrations -- The Beach Boys

How can you get ahead in life?
Sky is Falling -- Lifehouse

What is the best thing about your friends?
Tougher Than It Is -- Cake

What is tonight going to be like?
Nowadays -- Chicago

and What is in store for this weekend?
Morning Song -- Jewel

Some of the answers are pretty spot on... I guess what you listen to says more about you than you think.

Exam season is upon us

My last day of classes was yesterday. I sort of have mixed feelings about it. Part of me is a bit burned out and looking foward to the next few weeks, but I have some classes I really enjoyed that I'm going to miss. I'm going to post a couple poems I wrote for my Creative Writing class. I'm taking another Creative Writing class next semester so maybe they'll be more of this if I write anything good. I didn't think I was a poetry writing person but I actually enjoyed writing them.

Words are all I have
I tinker with words
like a child with toys
changing one for another
losing sight of what was there to start.
Threading ideas together
like an old woman knitting a sweater.
If you find the right place to pull
will it all unravel?
Still, words are all I have
so I keep playing the game

Gossip Brew
Her gnarled hands grasp the delicate china;
I fear she will drop the cups.
All offers of help denied,
she always insists on tea.

When I was young
I fancifully believed tea to be
a mystical potion Grandma drank
for strength

Grandma hungers for conversation,
the details of a story
she stores up like crumbs
from tea-cakes
to savor later
when the tea has grown cold

“Tell me more,” she says.
I tell her the unimportant facts of me
that mean nothing and everything.
Looking down at the tea I had forgotten to sip,
I realize it’s not the warmth of the brew
from which she draws her strength

Stupid Things to Do

Last night I was supposed to be cleaning the fridge. I took all the food out and noticed that there was blue jello residue underneath the bottom shelf on the fridge. I did what any normal person would to and took out the shelf to wash it. Unfortnately the shelf was quite frosty and the water I was using was too warm and the thing exploded in my hands sending shards of glass all the way across the kitchen. There was a few inches of glass in the bottom of the sink and even some piece down my shirt. Fortunately I only cut my thumb which bled pretty severely but is ok now. That was a stupid thing to do.
A smart thing to do was switching to Blogger beta. it is so much easier to use and I was able to change my template and fiddle with colors to my hearts content. To any bloggers that haven't switched yet I highly recomend it.

My Wicked Time in Toronto

I must really like Toronto because I've been there two weeks in a row now. Last Friday I met Abby there to see Wicked: we visited China Town, went out to eat, and saw the musical. The next day we shopped for a few hours and then went to see Happy Feet on the Imax. It was probably the best weekend of my month.... or semester. This Friday I was Lisa's escort to an information session at the University of Toronto. After that we went shopping and then had dinner with Nardeen. Aside from the pouring rain it was awesome. Here are some highlights of last week:

Wally with the CN tower.

Me and Abby in China Town. The tower was supposed to be behind us but our heads are too big. But we got new hats there! Everything in China Town is rediculously cheap!

Salt and Pepper shakers... that really like each other.

Happy Feet!!! I LOVED this movie!

Father Penguin: What are you doing? (as baby penguin is spazing out all over the place)
Mumble: I'm happy!
Father: What are you doing with your feet???
Mumble: They're happy too! Posted by Picasa
